The 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics and Paralympics are gearing up to be a spectacle, and the excitement is building! But the journey to the Games is a complex operation, and it all starts with the Uniform and Accreditation Centre (UAC).
A pivotal moment has arrived! The first UAC has been unveiled at Fiera Milano Congressi, marking a significant step towards the highly anticipated event. This center will be the heart of operations, providing official uniforms and accreditations to the vast network of volunteers, staff, and stakeholders. And it's not just any uniform; it's a symbol of unity and dedication.
Andrea Varnier, CEO of the Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation, couldn't contain his enthusiasm: "The Games are truly coming to life!" He was among the first to receive his uniform and accreditation, number 2026, a powerful symbol of the collective effort. But here's where it gets personal: Varnier emphasized that this milestone signifies the hard work and passion of thousands coming together as one community. And this is the part most people miss—the UAC isn't just a logistical hub; it's a place where the spirit of the Games is born.
Strategically located within the Main Media Centre, the UAC is easily accessible and boasts ample space for efficient operations. It will serve as the central distribution point for uniforms and accreditations for the next five months, ensuring everyone involved is ready for their role. But the real heroes are the 250 volunteers who are already hard at work, ensuring smooth operations.
The uniforms, designed with functionality and visibility in mind, will be worn by a workforce of 25,000, including 18,000 volunteers, all set to become the face of the Games. And to cater to the mountain clusters, additional UACs will open in early 2026, ensuring every corner of the event is covered.
As the UAC officially opens its doors on December 1st, the world will witness the transformation of a city into a global sporting arena. But the question remains: How will this event shape the future of sports and community engagement? Share your thoughts below!
